Additional information

Let's start with the game itself and there is nothing to write home about here. Age of Empires III is still an outstanding RTS. Let's start with the story campaign. As you probably remember, the game will take us to the next decades of the history of the Morgan family, who were in various ways involved in the colonization of America or the development of the societies that were emerging there. We will try to recover the Spanish gold, we will find the fountain of youth or we will defend the tribe of natives against the attacks of the colonizers. Here is a curiosity, because Age of Empires III Definitive Edition has been censored to meet today's social standards, especially related to the popular Black Lives Matter movement. In order not to piss anyone off, there is hardly any word colonization in the game. For example, the era name has been changed from Colonization Age to Commerce Age. Other names for the two tribes were also introduced, as they were said to have been given by European colonists. Other items removed from the game were, for example, groups of natives dancing around a fire. I don't know what's wrong with dancing by the fire, but the creators made such decisions. In any case, such changes to the colonization game are a bit tasteless and smell like mere censorship and propaganda.

It does not matter, however, because the game itself is very addictive and nothing has changed here. The gameplay hasn't aged, it's not archaic, as is often the case with other remasters. In most cases, missions will be traditional: we will build a base, gather resources, take care of defense, explore, build armies and attack the enemy. Everything is traditional and people who miss the good old RTS system will find themselves in paradise. Of course, the campaign in Age of Empires III is not only about destroying the enemy. There is always something else, some additional challenge, or a mission totally detached from the standards. We will help the revolutionist in destroying more bases, or we will use a powerful cannon to destroy the enemy fleet. We will look for ships with Spanish gold or we will build and defend the railway route, and then defend ourselves against the Mexican attack. We won't have any resources, but the railroads will make us a fortune. It is impossible to get bored in the story campaign.
