With Unravel pinned high hopes, but I tried to approach him from a small distance; difficult to tell stories about things "important" without moving into enthusiasm. And that's what would come - the title of a beautiful and pleasant in terms of gameplay, but a little cloying. In Unravel is a certain naivety and childishness, but the more I associate Hayao Miyazaki with the warmth of films and Media Molecule productions as the sloppy fairy tales for children. It's a positive and sincere one, so it evokes memories and sets a sentimental mood, but not in an overbearing way. It's the kind of story associated with childhood and that characteristic sense of security and carefree.
A large part of the credit brilliant framing audio. Ambient sound is one thing - the wind, the sound of birds, rain and waves - but the soundtrack is just a real masterpiece. Carries out a relaxing, tranquil atmosphere and fits in perfectly with what's happening on screen. Association with Celtic music and folk motives occurred to me immediately, although I do not know how correct I am, because no expert on me. But even a layman immediately feels that the soundtrack fits perfectly into the atmosphere of Sweden, which, by the way, lasts the whole action. Locations based on authentic scenes and you can see it at every step. This element, perhaps, most impressive - graphics. The surrounding Yarny'ego world looks real. I think I've never seen such a realistic dedicated snow. Bright colors and lighting - wow. Rays of light piercing through the clouds, winter morning , blizzard... And all this is rendered with such precision that it would be a sin not to take a screenshot. But the biggest impression made on me unless passages in the cave filled with icicles. Or a forest full of moss, rivulets, plants - until you go to the mountains. Developers managed flawlessly unraveling to close the beauty of nature, giving the opportunity for a contrast to the exploration of extremely different places.

Unravel The opening scene shows an old woman spending time in her Swedish cottage, located in a picturesque remote area. It is in pursuit of her memories that Yarny sets off, returning to the places where the key moments for the hostess happened. One that is never forgotten. Both the happy and the sad and the tragic. Yarny collects them all, pasting more photos from the past into a faded album.
What is Unravel doing this for? How did it come to life? What's his mission? Honestly, I still have no idea. Without dialogue, the two-dimensional production in 3D is based on a narrative using symbols. Unfortunately, the story is very bland and even at moments that should obviously touch me, I remain as cool as the snow on which Yarny walked. The way the story is told is definitely not the strongest point of this production. It's completely irrelevant - Unravel is just a very, very good platform game.
Unravel Producers from the Swedish studio Coldwood Interactive collided the tiny, fairy-tale Yarny with our realistic and gigantic world. A world governed by the laws of physics and the laws of nature. One in which a figure of a dozen centimeters made of yarn has to fight against such mundane adversities as gusts of wind, tiny mammals or birds sitting on trees.
