ARK Survival Evolved is set in an open world survival sandboksowy simulator, where players are the main competitors of dinosaurs. The title is debut production studio Wildcard, founded by former Microsoft Game Studios employee Jesse Rapczaka, and created for eighth-generation PCs and consoles. Game mechanics are modeled on the legendary sandboksach MMO likes of DayZ with the difference that the role of ubiquitous zombies has been taken here by giant dinosaurs. Our character, naked and helpless, walks on the island closer to the unknown, and his task is to survive in this hostile environment for as long as possible. In order to survive, we must produce the raw materials from which hunting and gathering, then we will produce weapons and various tools necessary for further existence. In the game there was also a system of character development, which during their stay on the island will learn new skills, very useful for survival. Some of them even allow you to tame dinosaurs and then make them personal mounts.
As in most of this type of production, our oasis is built its own lair, which provides us with protection from the more dangerous dinosaurs - these are in the game more than 70 species: from small flying pterodactyls to true giants the likes of Diplodocus, a dinosaur or T -Rex. They are not just a nuisance, as well as ruthless opponents can be other players, sharpening their teeth on our accumulated stocks. The game is set, of course, to play on the network and according to the rules of the genre allows to bind alliances and cooperation with other peaceful players. It is nothing but the way to play offline, we must reckon with the fact that not all the dangers we will be able to face. Your kill gives fantastic prizes, but to be successful you need to work in a larger group. It seems that dinosaurs are back in fashion. Although a group of people who have always been surprisingly large in indulgence in prehistoric reptiles, the past few months has seen a real return to the prehistoric time of grace. Easily attributed to this, of course, in the film premiere of Jurassic World, which the work released on cinema screens a few months ago, but the gaming community also played a big role in debuting almost at the same time, ARK: Survival Evolved. No, "debut" is perhaps too big a word, "launch early access" is a more apt definition - but whatever the definition, we've already had the opportunity to scrutinize this production a little more closely. Survival, Open World, and Dinosaurs? Who could resist? The fundamental question that then asked me (and not only me anyway) was whether this fascinating, ambitious project will stand the test of time, and that "early access" does not evolve quickly into "early disappointment"? Many updates later I sat back down to ARK and, well... you have to admit one thing - the game has changed a lot.

ARK Survival Evolved was born in 2014 in the minds of members of the newly established Wildcard Studio. They started working on a game that was supposed to combine survival and dinosaurs, a combination that is quite rare and, at the same time, incredibly interesting. Who has never dreamed of riding a Triceratops and then jumping into their treehouse? I must have thought about it once when I was playing with rubber dinosaur-shaped toys. After more than a year, the game was released in the Steam Early Access program, and a little later in the Xbox Game Preview. Along the way, the studio had a few PR stumbles, such as hiring people in an active developer who undertook not to work in the industry in return for lifting the contract, or releasing a paid DLC when the game has not yet been fully released, which resulted in numerous negative reviews, although while the first is stupid on the part of the developer, I understand the second. Oh, and there was a double price increase shortly before the game was fully released, which also seems normal, but it cost both the game and Studio Wildcard in terms of image.
ARK Survival Evolved was finally released last month, and after the battles with the game's PR, we have a review. And I have to point that out now. The Conan Exiles review is coming soon and it seems… Better? But for now, Ark. It's a title that could very easily arise in the mind of a gamedev child who has just watched Jurassic Park. Before we get to the game, however, we need to familiarize ourselves with the menu full of options, because the game is based on servers. We can play online on a previously created server (or start the game on our own), or play on an offline server, anyway, we have a configuration to do. The menu consists of numerous sliders that are responsible for the experience gained, hostility of dinosaurs, PvP issues, or even the map on which the fight takes place. After the setup is complete, we need to create a new survivor, however, we don't have significant choices to make here as the wizard focuses on the appearance, which is quite limited anyway. We can't change things like the hairstyle, for example, which makes every character bald at first and looks like Tom Hanks at the end of Cast Away after a few hours.
