Cyberpunk 2077 Review

February 15, 2022 is not just a post-Valentine's calorie burn attempt, but for many, a return to a different, sometimes beautiful, but actually somewhat toxic, relationship. Then, quite unexpectedly, the next-gen version of Cyberpunk 2077 debuted with patch 1.5, which was gargantuan in terms of the number of big and small changes. Half-jokingly, half-seriously, Jason Schreier even called the day "the day cyberpunk was probably supposed to go out originally." In any case, the whole mass of players rushed back into conquering Night City, which initially requires 50 to around 90 GB of free storage space (how much specifically - opinions differ). I also played. And I even got that 5 hours which is what the free trial offers. Has this time made me want to come back longer? No, not at all, because I have nothing for what. That doesn't change the fact that I've never had a cyberpunk game this good before.

Before the premiere of Cyberpunk 2077, many people for some reason hoped that the futuristic Grand Theft Auto with a truly witchy Erpegium element was waiting for them. From the start, CD Projekt RED dampened associated player sentiment and expectations - being GTA is never enough - and it really wasn't. Getting around the city by car was not very pleasant, committing crimes was not satisfactory due to the completely non-functional police response system, there were no hairdressers, clothing stores or other minor non-figurative activities either. However, patch 1.5 narrowed the overall gap between Cyberpunk and GTA a bit. The driving model has changed noticeably - the possibility of an almost completely controlled drift means that it is worth increasing the speed in the city without fear of a bump that violates all the laws of physics. Unfortunately, these are still broken. The collisions still result in grotesque car deaths, and sometimes even the textures of both cars magically match. It's a millisecond, but it still smells like an uninvited breakdown. It's better than it was, but Forza Horizon isn't.

In addition, the artificial intelligence of the opponents has been improved. How does this relate to the change bringing the game closer to Grand Theft Auto? Well, the residents of Night City finally react sanely when we decide to attack them on the street. I took a half-hour stroll through Japantown with the main goal of sowing brutal chaos. What was new for me? Well, not all passers-by are regrettable cowards anymore. Of the dozens of victims I selected, five turned against me and joined the fight, and the rest ran away in panic, not looking at my feet. It was also nice to watch the panic movements of... drivers. They responded to the threat by hitting the gas pedal, which hit random pedestrians. Sure, it's not yet a full-fledged five-star brawl in San Andreas - especially since the law enforcement officers are still not working properly, even if they seem a little less stupid and players don't appear out of nowhere five meters in front of the door. However, I think this is the CDPR's first step in increasing the gratification of just walking around town or spreading unwarranted terror. This is a replacement for "sandboxing" that was needed in this game.
