A buying guide is only as good as the standards behind it. This page explains the rules PC Gaming Site applies to every article about gaming PCs, laptops, monitors and components.
Our editorial standards
We are independent
Coverage decisions belong to our editorial team. System builders, component brands and retailers cannot review, approve or alter our articles.
Placement is not for sale
We accept no payment for inclusion in a guide, for a higher ranking or for positive language. We don’t publish sponsored rankings. Affiliate links are disclosed and do not decide the order of any list.
We source every figure
Every spec, price tier and performance number needs a traceable source. We use primary sources first, such as manufacturer spec sheets and seller configuration pages, then independent measurements from hardware review sites and display labs, then owner reports. Numbers without a source are not published.
We handle conflicting data openly
Different outlets often report different frame rates for the same GPU because of game settings, driver versions or the rest of the hardware each outlet used. When figures disagree, we show the range or explain the difference instead of picking the highest.
We use AI carefully
AI tools assist with research, outlining and drafting. People edit every article and verify every fact. AI never invents specs, performance figures or measurement results.
We disclose conflicts
We currently do not accept review units or free systems in exchange for coverage. Any future sample, gift or business relationship with a brand we cover will be disclosed in the relevant article.
We keep content current
Our main guides are reviewed periodically and updated sooner after component swaps, new hardware generations, major price changes or reader reports. Every update is dated.
