A Way Out for PC Download on PC, PS4 and XONE platforms is a unique adventure action game designed solely for two person's fun. During the game we will learn the story of two convicts who join forces to escape from American prison. Production is the responsibility of debut studio Hazelight, the writers of the well-received collaborative adventures of Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, released in 2013. Leading the development team is Josef Fares, a Swedish film director of Lebanese descent whose paintings have received awards and honors at various European festivals. Download A Way OutA Way Out has two main characters, Vincent and Leo, who are doomed with opposite personalities. At first, they are only connected by a chance encounter and a common goal, namely to escape from prison. However, due to common difficulties and obstacles, they quickly become true friends. Leo is a hardened criminal who loves to take risks and finds the solution to all problems in the simplest way he knows, that is, with the help of his fists. Vincent is the opposite of his companion. He approaches dangerous situations with caution and usually prefers to avoid open conflict, but can also become very dangerous when strapped in. During the adventure we will try to get out of the prison and then escape from the pursuit of the law enforcement officers. Both protagonists have their own individual goals - they not only want to get out and reunite with their families, but also to take revenge on the people who put them behind bars.
At the beginning of the game, each player decides which protagonist he will play during the campaign. We observe the action in A Way Out from a third person perspective. We control characters like in many other adventure action games. You can sneak, run, stun guards, or shoot with guns. If the hero couple is not in the same place, the screen will split into two parts showing the actions of Leo and Vincent. This even happens during dialogue phases and cinematics. The title offers a wide variety of game mechanics. Players take part in hand-to-hand combat, gunfights, chases and stealth sectors on the campaign plot. We can approach many obstacles in two ways - aggressively suggested by Leo and more thoughtfully created by Vincent. And Way Out relies on close cooperation between players. Both players have to coordinate their activities and show their reaction speed in many quick-time events and mini-games.

1970s - Leo and Vincent meet in prison. They are divided by many - origin, character, methods of operation. However, they have a common goal - to escape from the mamra and get a certain guy who messed up their lives. It is in these heroes that two buddies sitting on the couch or playing on the net play the role. In fact, it makes no sense to play with randomly selected companions, the game does not allow this with the rest. It's a very binary situation: you are either buying the aspect of compulsory collaboration with a second friend or you are not. I would say it's the only game on the market that targets only two players. It's nice that you only need one copy of the game to play A Way Out. The distance-playing buddy will jump into the fun by sucking in the relevant data.
But let's get back to our protagonists - their journey begins with an accidental fight on the prison pitch, but will lead to a great escape and even bigger, truly cinematic events. The problem is that we've seen everything that happens in A Way Out in a movie or game before. Prison life and the combination of getting out is a peculiar combination of "The Shawshank Red", "Prison Break" and a whole lot of other film equivalents about life in prison. Further adventures of Leo and Vincent are also not better and they fall from one scheme to the next.
You can like the main characters and identify with them over time, but also without excessive involvement. A bit of a weak voice acting, sometimes completely devoid of emotions, and sometimes unnatural, hampers this. It is worth noting that Leo was played by Fares himself (the face of this character was modeled after him) and, unfortunately, with his voice, he is one of the weakest links in the game. In addition, the action at the end clearly accelerates (gameplay), not allowing us to focus on the context of the entire story. On the other hand, when I was willing to put a line on it, A Way Out surprises with a strong, expressive and heart-piercing finale. It partially rewards all the way up to this point, but I'd rather the story be more than just a bunch of clichés.
