The action is again seen from the third-person perspective (TPP), but the authors decided to slightly change the proportions between the elements of the game. While combat continues to play an important role here, the fun places emphasis on exploring tombs, ruins, and forgotten temples, as well as solving environmental puzzles. When plundering such places, it is worth being careful, because there are swarms of deadly traps. In addition, it's worth noting that Lara is not only great at climbing and stunts (jumping off chasms is her daily bread), but also diving, so she can explore the sunken ruins as well. Because of the location where the action takes place, the jungle plays an important role in the story. The thicket inhabited by wildlife allows Lara to develop her survival skills; Thanks to this, the girl learns to use her assets for herself, hiding in the bushes (including using makeshift mud camouflage), eliminating enemies by surprise or using traps made of lianas. The jungle is also an excellent source of raw materials that use an extensive crafting system. This allows us to increase the capacity of the backpack, carry more ammo for the firearm and arrows for the bow, or put on bandages bound to wounds. In addition to weapons, Miss Croft also has various tools to facilitate exploration - we are mainly talking about lines with hooks and waiters.

After Rise of the Tomb Raider, the main character does not slow down and continues the fight against the sinister Trinity organization and tries to unravel the mystery of her father's death. The action takes place two months after the trip to Siberia, and the creators took care to perfectly show the determination of the heroine, which borders on obsession.
After the young, scared and screeching girl, no trace was left. Lara is a tough, brutal and murderous beast that is also an explorer. At times, we forget about the archaeological aspect, when we lurk in dense vegetation, stained in the mud, to slit the throat of mercenaries armed to the teeth. Is it something bad? Absolutely not. Secret artifacts and secret forces ruling the world are already quite a hackneyed theme, so it's good that on the occasion of Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the creators focused more on showing Lara as the person partially responsible for the problems. The pursuit of the rulers of the Trinity and constant attempts to overtake them in reaching another dangerous artifact leads to the fulfillment of the dark Mayan prophecy.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider Lara not only has to face the challenge of dangerous traps and dangerous mercenaries, but also watches her decisions lead to harm to many innocent people. The threat of the end of the world has a stronger overtone when during the adventure we observe how another cataclysm leads to serious damage and suffering. The dark secret of Lara's father's death is not as surprising as it might seem. The story itself and its ending do not shock and are not as addictive as the polished gameplay. It can be said that Shadow of the Tomb Raider is more of an adventure in which the journey is more interesting than its purpose.
