The Last of Us Part II is an action-adventure game that is a sequel to the 2013 hit. The title takes us to a post-apocalyptic world devastated by a deadly epidemic and where survival will require many victims. The production was developed by the well-known studio Naughty Dog Uncharted and Jak and Daxter series, among others. The game continues the threads started in the first part - its plot begins five years later at the Jackson Animal Shelter in Wyoming. During the game we will visit, among other things, Jackson known from the first part and the ruins of Seattle. This time the game has two main characters - Ellie, the girl who assisted the player in The Last of Us, and Abby, a new character from the WLF faction. However, on screen we will also see Joel, the protagonist of "One", and many new characters belonging to two rival factions - WLF and Scars. The leitmotif of the story is the question "How far would you go to be fair to people who harm those you love?"
Mechanically, The Last of Us Part 2 develops the ideas from the first part. So again we get an action-adventure game in which the camera is placed behind the character's back (we control a lonely heroine, although she is sometimes assisted by companions controlled by artificial intelligence). During the game, the player traverses maps with a partially open structure and eliminates enemies. Ellie has also learned to swim and dive - many secrets are hidden behind flooded passageways and we often get wet. There is no shortage of brutal direct confrontations throughout the game, but we also often have to focus on a stealthy approach. In clashes we use both melee and firearms, but the latter is hampered by the small amount of ammo found during exploration. However, dealing wounds has a greater impact on enemies' abilities than in The Last of Us (e.g. by shooting in the leg we can make it difficult for the opponent to move). As the game progresses we can also develop the skills of the protagonist. We have five development trees available that will be unlocked as the game progresses. We are developing shooting accuracy, reloading speed, among other things, but also the ability to craft more items with fewer materials. Abby's gameplay is different from Ellie's. Abby is more physically agile, has different weapons, and can develop different abilities.

It's hard to imagine a better farewell to the current generation of consoles. The Last of Us Part II is an outstanding game - a visual masterpiece, with extremely realistic gameplay and a captivating story. We will talk about the production of Naughty Dog for many more years and come back to it sometimes in the next generation. The Last of Us 2 has generated a lot of controversy in recent months. Rumors about working conditions in the studio, uncontrolled leaks about the plot, postponement of the release date - this is part of the information published in the media. Fortunately, the production behind the scenes is one thing, and the end result simply defends itself in the world. We are not afraid to say that all fears were unfounded and greatly exaggerated.
The Last of Us Part II The first adventures of Ellie and Joel took us on a dangerous journey, which is also a reflection on the family and what we are ready to do to save a loved one. The Last of Us 2 continues the same topic, in a way, contesting our beliefs and system of values, without propagating any attitudes, but only showing both sides of the coin. Ellie embarks on a dramatic journey to get answers to her questions. Of course, the story gets complicated quickly, and additional threads add to the problems that we have to overcome. A lot of the elements seem quite predictable, but it's never exactly what we expect. Subsequent cutscenes and flashbacks show that nothing is black and white.
The Last of Us Part II This is no longer a story about two people traveling through a dangerous world. It is the story of many people living in terrifying times, desperately fighting for normality; where everyone is blinded by their own desires, obsessions and past traumas. The adventure remains coherent, intriguing and full of dramatic events until the very end. From the visual side, The Last of Us 2 simply impresses. Regardless of the version of the console you have, we discover a credible, convincing world - bathed in light and twilight, overgrown with vegetation and sadness, that can turn into a terrifying and suffocating spectacle as we go underground. Here, every character, smile, cry, every move and shot look extremely realistic and natural.
