Afro Samurai 2 Revenge of Kuma The continuation of the console meet Afro Samurai, based on the motifs of the popular manga Takashi Okazaki. The independent studio Drafted, founded by the original co-founder, David Robinson, is responsible for the creation of the game. The game's story tells an entirely new story, focusing on the form of Kuma known for games created based on the animated mini-series. However, during the game we have the possibility of familiarization in various forms, including the well-known original Afro. This doesn't mean, however, that the game doesn't live up to the title character of the original, sympathetic Afro. The developers have prepared a whole set of playable characters, both known from the first part of the game and the series, and the feature that follows Afro Samurai: Resurrection. You are probably curious where this enthusiasm comes from. Well, it's hard for me to find one element of Afro Samurai 2: Revenge of Kuma that would not be a mockery of the player. The music is ok. Yes, this is probably the only accent linking the sequel to the original that has not been mocked. But not quite, because the rest of the audio frame is still there. It is difficult to listen to beats that RZA would not be ashamed of when the voices of the characters are played sometimes louder, sometimes quieter. The first hour of the game is anyway the main character shouting the same lines ad nauseam. And then it doesn't get any better, because it happens that during a cutscene all the characters talk at once. The brain then twists inside out as the ears try to catch anything.
Combat is a primitive chaff in which there is not even an gram of the blade dance from the first game. The weakly animated Kuma throws uncoordinated (slightly different depending on the chosen style), and the player never knows if he is hitting enemies or air. The effect is usually the same - after charging the finisher, press the circle, the game chokes to 5 fps, and when it returns to its miserable normality, the enemies lie slaughtered.
Revenge of Kuma can sometimes make us rude to use a given style - the enemy, even after shoving 30 combos into him, will not die until we cut him from behind once, after jumping over his head. "Cool thing. Especially when we fight different snags, the game cuts and the change of style "on the fly" exists only theoretically. Specs from the Redacted studio were not able to program even a banal QTE, so as not to be annoyed with the need to absolutely massacre the buttons on the pad in order to move on.
