And although it seems to be a big change, the gameplay itself does not differ significantly from what we already know well. The latest part about the adventures of Riders of the Apocalypse is a prequel, a story that tells the events before the first installment of the series. We play the role of a well-known rider, Wojna, and a completely new hero - Strife. Our task is to stop Lucifer, who wants to disturb the balance of the world.
The story, as in the previous series of the series, does not arouse much interest. We get to know the story through beautifully drawn films and, above all, the characters' conversations. The dialogues, however, are infantile and often boring. Riders' sticks, instead of being ironic, accurate jokes that loosen the atmosphere, are embarrassing. Fortunately, the dialogues are just an addition, because the essence of the game is, of course, the elimination of dozens of enemies. The fight has not changed much compared to the previous parts. These are still very dynamic and effective battles, putting dexterity and speed over tactics and precision.
As with all slashers, we have a small range of strokes - fast or strong. However, it is the right combination of both blows that determines the execution of the combination. War and Strife have a different style of combat, thanks to different equipment. The first hero, as before, has a great sword in his hand, while the second one has two daggers and a pair of pistols from which he can fire at a distance. At first, the range of motion is not very impressive. Only with time, when we gain points and special coins, our arsenal will begin to develop. For the local currency, we can buy new combinations of blows, upgrade existing skills or increase the range of healing potions.
