FlatOut 4 Total Insanity The fourth edition of the spectacular full-fledged racing FlatOut series, launched in 2004 by the Finnish studio Bugbear Entertainment. After accepting the cool parts of the third cycle, the task of creating their continuation was entrusted to Studio Kylotonn, which won, among other things, the fifth and sixth parts of the popular racing series WRC. Whole and is largely based on the observations and suggestions of the gaming community, to some extent acting a return to the roots of the brand. FlatOut 4 Total Insanity As a kid, I loved the Destruction Derby series from the first PlayStation. The work of Kylotonn in many respects reminds me of these games mainly because vehicles are destroyed - and not just any kind! The most spectacular disaster is the driver's foray through the windshield over a specific bell with an obstacle. Vehicles bend the body in a very effective way, and sparks fly as if from an angle grinder. FlatOut 4 Total Insanity The damage itself is not only visual, because it significantly affects the behavior of the car and its performance. The car can break down to such an extent that further driving is impossible.
The beginnings of the career mode in FlatOut 4 Total Insanity are one of the simpler ones, but this is only because the creators apparently wanted to introduce the player into the crazy whirlwind of hardcore racing without any major obstacles. In my case, they succeeded perfectly. After completing the first two competitions, the level of difficulty began to gradually increase. Each next stage was a bit more difficult than the previous one - the opponents became more aggressive and they managed the next sections of the route better. They also used more and more powerful cars. FlatOut 4 Total Insanity Initially, I thought that as the game progressed, the level of improvement of opponents' cars increases, but on my own example, I refuted this thesis, because, as it turned out, vehicle improvement is a bit of a placebo and has a small impact on their performance. Better to spend all that money on a new car than to upgrade the engine of the old one.
There aren't too many FlatOut 4 Total Insanity Routes, but the situation is saved by other game modes. Standard laps are diversified by Attack - the player gets a weapon that turns an ordinary race into a real battlefield. It's not the Carmageddon level, but the wreckage is still dense. I mentioned Destruction Derby a few lines above for a reason, because both productions feature my favorite form of gameplay, Arena. In short, it's all about annihilating the other drivers. Among the elements characteristic of the Flatout series itself, there are also mini-games such as on shooting your avatar from behind the driver and, for example, knocking over as many blocks as possible or a peculiar form of "drunk pong", that is, hitting the cups with your character. What about an online game? If I was incomprehensible, I would write that multiplayer did not exist.
