By releasing Pro Evolution Soccer 2020 with the same theme year after year, it's getting harder and harder to find something that will surprise players. Especially when it's a football game, i.e. set in the world of sports, where not much changes. However, it is not enough to simply update the squads, kits or stadiums to win the sympathy of customers. The producers of sports games focused on offering graphics bordering on photorealistic or improving the game physics to such an extent that it resembled a real struggle.
It is the attention to the gameplay model in Pro Evolution Soccer 2020 and the mapping of real field situations that are to be the key advantages of this year's Pro Evolution Soccer 2020. The pace of the game was also subordinated to this, focusing more on thoughtful decisions than spontaneous, and sometimes even crazy attempts. All this so that Pro Evolution Soccer 2020 is both a regular participant in social meetings and gives the opportunity to prove yourself in a more professional way, for example at dedicated tournaments.
eFootball PES 2020 (Pro Evolution Soccer 2020) is a classic football simulator that combines a high level of realism with accessibility. Compared to the previous part, a number of changes have been introduced, such as an improved system of receiving and handling the ball, improved passes and the mechanics of creating actions, thanks to which we can carry out efficient counterattacks and tactically use the free space on the pitch.
The creators of Pro Evolution Soccer 2020 also took care of a number of additional maneuvers (e.g. a new type of dribbling, as well as a lot of tricks to avoid rivals) and moves (e.g. hits "from the first ball"). Changes can also be found in the Master League mode - the mechanics of transfer management have been improved (which results in a more realistic valuation of players) and a special, interactive dialogue system has been added.
The main menu reveals to the player the game modes that can be played. In terms of a single-player game - a classic. A single match, taking control of one of the teams in the game, creating your team and competing with others or the single player career mode. As in a football game, there is a lot to choose from and no one will be dissatisfied. What is more important is what the prefix of the game's name reveals. The term eFootball suggests that Pro Evolution Soccer 2020 has ambitions to become a tournament game, a permanent element at the largest esports events. And this shift of focus towards multiplayer is evident.
PES 2020 does not focus on the perfect representation of all possible teams, thanks to which it lacks licenses for many leagues, including those from the top European leagues. It also does not offer a very extensive individual mode. However, skirmishes with other players are a real pleasure. We can play, which is natural, both with friends sitting next to each other, and with players from around the world. The latter mode allows you to take a sober look at your own skills, but also to watch interesting plays of other users and add them to your repertoire. The most important, however, is the mechanics of the game itself, making it an exceptionally playable position, but more on that below.

Compared to the previous installment, the pace of the game in eFootball PES 2020 has slightly decreased. All this so that the player has the opportunity to analyze the field situation in more detail and choose the most beneficial solution for the team. The key to the midfield are usually short, accurate passes, consistently shifting the weight of the game towards the opponent's goal. This game model didn't come about by chance. One of the best contemporary footballers in the world - Andres Iniesta - was engaged to work on the mechanics. The former great star of the Spanish national team and FC Barcelona is a real king of the midfield, before whose talent everyone bowed down, including the fans of the eternal antagonist - Real Madrid. In fact, the game gives the impression that the virtual players have something of Iniesta in their technique. I don't know if it's just an illusion, but it seems to me that smart play in the middle of the field gained value in this part of the game.
