Units and their crews gain experience from mission to mission, allowing us to unlock better weapons and components and teach subordinates new special abilities. Compared to the first part of Battlefleet Gothic, Armada 2 offers much more extensive content. While the previous installment started with just four races, the sequel lets you take control of Starfleet from up to twelve factions. These include the Empire Navy, Space Marines, Adeptus Mechanicus, Necrons, Chaos, Aeldari (formerly Eldarzy), Corsairs Aeldari, Drukhar, Merchants T'au, and the Defense Fleet of Tau, Orcs, and Tyranids. The authors focused on an unusual campaign structure. There is no division into missions in Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 - instead we come across a constantly expanding strategic map, on which we make further conquests. In the meantime, we keep an eye on the economy (this aspect has been simplified to a large extent, which in our opinion was a good move) and we are building new shipyards that allow us to develop the space fleet. The whole thing can be quite a challenge - enemies harass us every now and then, and we have to move our ships between individual places, trying to respond to threats as efficiently as possible. Battlefleet Gothic Armada 2 We liked that. In turn, we have to stick to the fact that moving around the board can be tedious, and the search for individual planets has not been properly facilitated. And over time - as our empire grows - the situation gets worse.
The space battles in which we take part are presented with three-dimensional graphics, but we move the ships only on one plane. This approach will not be to everyone's liking, but it certainly makes unit management easier and makes the clashes more compact.
