Port Royale 4 offers four story campaigns where we partner with England, Spain, Netherlands and France. Each of these nations has different characteristics and conditions that affect the game. We play the role of the governor of a small settlement whose goal is to create an empire that will spread over many islands. Port Royale 4 focuses on the economic aspect. During the game we can construct fifty types of buildings, half of which are structures used for the manufacture of different types of goods. The player must develop the economy and learn to balance spending and investments properly.
Trade plays a key role in the game, where we can do business with 60 cities. We transport goods by sea, so it is very important to create routes that avoid dangerous areas such as rainwater. A special map mode has been introduced in the game that will show us the direction and strength of the sea currents, allowing us to optimize our routes. In addition to economic development, we also command sailing ships in tactical naval battles played in turn-based mode for the first time in the history of the cycle. The game features 18 ship types that are modeled after authentic ships from the 17th century. The Port Royale brand returns after more than 8 years of absence - the announcement of Port Royale 4 was one of the surprises of the first Opening Night Live. If you expect Port Royale 4 to be the next Sid Meier's Pirates !, or another simulator of being a sailor, I will dispel your doubts immediately - the production reviewed today is a real, racial and devilishly ruthless business game.
