The Evil Within 2 The main character of the game is the detective Sebastian Castellanos, known from the first part, who falls into alcoholism and depression after the death of his daughter Lily. However, he soon finds out that his child didn't die during the house fire and was kidnapped. He embarks on a journey to the seemingly idyllic town of Union. In this location, a new alternate reality was created, which the hero's daughter used. In order to retrieve it, Sebastian must leave the real world and undertake a journey into the nightmarish dimension built by the Mobius group. Download The Evil Within 2 for PC In terms of mechanics, the gameplay for PC, PS4 and XONE platforms The Evil Within 2 is an evolution of the ideas from the first part. Again, we get a survival horror action game where the camera is placed behind the hero's back. The game boils down to exploration, solving occasional puzzles and combat. During the game we face many different monsters and we have a lot of freedom in choosing methods to deal with threats. Open confrontations with heavy firearms are possible, or a more strenuous approach of hiding in the shadows and using a crossbow to eliminate enemies. There are also situations where escape is the best idea, especially that according to the traditions of the ammo genre and resources, it's always like a medicine.
Similar to the first part, in The Evil Within 2 we encounter narrow, claustrophobic locations, but this time open and non-linear areas appear next to them that we can discover at our own pace and that offer many side activities. Compared to the previous version, the hero's equipment has been enriched with a messenger that allows you to communicate with the former protégé of Sebastian - Julia Kidman, who is still in the real world. The tips she gives will help overcome challenges in a nightmarish reality. The device is also used to find items, raw materials, information and side missions. The Evil Within 2 The plot in the first part was kept in the form of a surprise, thanks to which the whole thing gained a mystery. In The Evil Within 2, the creators decided to follow the thread known from the predecessor, so what was once surprising is now said at the very beginning. As the story progresses, more details come to light, and they are what make it so powerful. The characters are much more clearly delineated, with a purpose and a past, and the whole thing is based on more than the typical "in and not out" horror game. Once again we are dealing with a genre mishmash, but I liked this mix. There is a bit of Resident Evil with bad corporation and experimentation, but also a bit of Silent Hill with all the madness, melancholy and darkness. We will find many interesting characters, including religious fanatics, mothers killing while feeding, or unfulfilled artists looking for beauty in death.
The Evil Within 2 To all of this, let's add a lot of excitement, and we have something that just needs to be known. However, it should be borne in mind that without knowing the prototype, we may miss something, especially in the moments when the characters recall the events of the "one". For fans of the first part, there are also several attractions, so it's worth knowing it. What else determines the high quality of The Evil Within 2 is the artistic style presented in a very good graphic design. The world we travel changes with each new event. This means that we often land in different places. It starts out quite typical when we find ourselves in dingy urban locations, but it changes quickly in favor of surrealism and places with the most twisted mind. Some may be bothered by the fact that the climate changes frequently, as it was in my case in some situations.
The Evil Within 2 On reflection, however, I come to the conclusion that it is so well implemented that it does not spoil the whole concept, but simply makes us feel almost as lost as the protagonist. The artists working on the design of the locations did a great job, because more than once I was delighted by watching some of the spots - especially those at the end of the game, when the developer could afford more. The massacres we fight are also well designed - both the smaller and the larger ones. Most of them resemble humans, but there are also those who are far from it, e.g. a walking cluster of corpses and barbed wires or a huge spider with hands instead of legs. Silent Hill comes to mind again with his great monster designs.
