Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 is a set of the first two parts of the cult series of arcade skateboard simulators signed with the name of a popular skateboarder. They have been completely remastered by the studio Vicarious Visions, known from the remake of the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. Also involved in the development of the games were former employees of the Neversoft Entertainment development team, which created the original 1999 and 2000 versions of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 are faithfully recreated games and therefore contain all the levels and a full list of skaters known from the original versions. Players can choose from real life players such as Tony Hawk, Bucky Lasek, Steve Caballero, Bob Burnquist, Jamie Thomas, Kareem Campbell, Rune Glifberg, Rodney Mullen, Eric Koston, Chad Muska, Elissa Thomas, Andrew Reynolds and Geoff Rowley. In the remasters we visit skate parks known to fans from the Warehouse, School, Mall, Roswell and Burnside series.
The creators tried to increase the number of goals during the game and add skateboard tricks that only appeared in later parts of the series. I'm talking about tricks like revert, lip tricks and wall plant. The game mechanics remained unchanged. For performing missions and tricks (counted in hundreds) we get money, thanks to which we can develop our skaters and buy new skateboards. Thanks to this player, it's easier for more and more complicated tricks. In both games, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater can be played in single, multiplayer or split-screen modes. The Create-A-Park and Create-A-Skater editors are also available, where you can create unique parks for skateboarding and your own skaters, and then share the results of your work with other players. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 is more than a classic remaster. The games were developed completely from scratch on a new engine, thanks to which the graphics correspond to modern standards. The changes are not just limited to increases in resolution (4K on PC and PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X consoles) and image fluidity (60 frames per second) and HDR support. Both parts can come up with high-quality textures as well as character models and animations as well as modern lighting and shadowing systems. In the refreshed editions of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 there was also a temptation to add modern features, such as the ability to quickly load the level after unsuccessful actions.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 combines the best in the series' achievements, starting with the iconic locations from the first two games - they have been recreated with attention to the smallest details, original geometry and ramp layout, as well as 4K textures and HDR support . Warehouse, School, Hangar and Roswell have never looked so good, the lighting was not so beautiful and the skater animations were so realistic. Under the hood of "THPS 1 + 2" there are pieces of code from old games written by Neversoft years ago, but in the wash it translates mainly into control.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 All S-K-A-T-E letters, levitating stamps, gaps and city fire hydrants are in exactly the same places, so if you have trouble finding them, you can use the "THPS 1" and "THPS 2" guides. The turn-of-the-century skaters we love (Hawk, Lasek, Burnquist, Muska, Rowley and others) have been reworked from scratch based on what they look like today. It makes them closer to Steve Buscemi from "30 Rock" than to young, rebellious boys grinding up the steps of the police station. The icing on this delicious nostalgia cake is, of course, the phenomenal original soundtrack with hits from Bad Religion, Dead Kennedys, RATM, Primus, Papa Roach, Fu Manchu and Suicidal Tendencies. It would have been enough luck for the old stagers, but the developers went a step further and added a lot of new content to the game.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 The key, from the gameplay point of view, is the addition of reverts, acid drops, spine transfers and wallplants, which only debuted in the later installments of the series. Even such obvious manuals debuted only in "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2", and here we can also use them on locations from "number one". Each map also features new, additional collectibles and tasks, and new young skaters have been added to the team of old skaters, including Tony Hawk's son, Riley, and the incredibly talented Leticia Bufoni, and Lizzie Armanto. Thanks to them, the database of available tricks and specials was also expanded. The list of songs also includes 37 new songs (including Machine Gun Kelly, Billy Talent, A Tribe Called Quest) - for sure each of us will choose the appropriate musical illustration of his skateboarding fate.
