Assassin's Creed Odyssey is the tenth major installment in the best-selling sandbuck series that launched in 2007. Unlike the previous parts of the series, which were action games, the production discussed made a strong turn towards the RPG genre, similar to the game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Exploring ancient Greece, the player, among other things, makes moral choices in missions, plays characters in interactive dialogues, and advances to the next levels of experience. The interior of the Quebec company Ubisoft is responsible for the creation of the title, which has benefited from the help of many other branches of this French publisher. In exchange for eliminating opponents, completing tasks (main and side quests) or exploring the world, we get experience points, and after collecting the appropriate number, we go to the next stages. Participation in side activities is necessary to advance the story and open safe access to more and more "advanced" regions of the world. Each promotion increases the character's stats and gives her a chance to develop these special skills, which are divided into three trees: Hunter, Warrior, and Assassin. Also, a very important role in increasing the combat potential of Alexios Kassandra is getting better and better equipment (weapon and armor components) and their improvement.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey promotion begins in 431 BC. At the beginning of the conflict between Sparta and Athens in the textbooks of history immortalized as the Peloponnesian War. Before playing, we'll choose one of two characters - Alexios or Kassandra, who are grandsons of the famous Spartan king Leonidas. However, they were excommunicated and expelled from their homelands in their youth; we get to know them when they earn their living as adult mercenaries. The beginning of the story - the title Odyssey - is the moment when the hero (ka) makes a dangerous assignment that unexpectedly opens the way for him to win back the family. On the other hand, we deal with adversity by adopting a stealth approach or engaging in open arguments (depending on preferences). If we choose a calm solution, we can take advantage of the Leonidas Spearhead - an ancient artifact that replaces the hidden blade known from the previous installments of the series. This weapon also gives Alexios and Kassandra special abilities like powerful attacks or lightning enemies. They are useful in melee duels where we use different types of melee weapons. We can also shoot with a bow. In addition, there are large battles in combat with up to three hundred units. If we break the law, our hunters will follow our main hunters, which we kill to get into the mercenary hierarchy.

I honestly admit that I, with my passion for exploring all possible corners of the map, discovering secrets and "licking every wall", had a huge problem at first to stick to the main plot. Every now and then something led me astray - and a mission appeared nearby, and again, in a short distance from me, I saw a cave with a treasure hidden inside and wolves "guarding" it, and for an unknown reason (at the start) it attacked me a group of locals as I walked past them. There are a lot of such pleasant moments that break out of the routine of going from point A to point B. Don't think, however, that the farther in the game, the easier it is to grasp it all. None of these things. When you finally get your ship and the whole Greek world is open to you, it will suddenly turn out that the list of accepted missions has grown to a considerable size, if only because in each port, right next to the dock, a new notice board is tempting you with new tasks.
A sensational patent that in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey enhances the aura of participating in a truly great adventure is a completely new world exploration system. In most cases, we are no longer guided by the hand and we have to find the target of the mission ourselves, using hints as to the direction or area of the search. Along the way, it's easy to hit some undiscovered point, take on a task waiting somewhere, hunt big game or simply admire the landscapes of ancient Greece in the world. And there is a lot to admire here, because Ubisoft did a great job creating spots where we ourselves want to stop, turn the camera and enjoy the views. I recommend to the unbelievers to visit the Kratos cave (yes, there is one) and go straight to Thermopylae, where the famous battle between the Spartans and the Persians took place. Assassin's Creed Odyssey begins with it.
As you probably know, Assassin's Creed Odyssey takes place during the Peloponnesian Wars, much earlier than the story told in the previous part of the game. So there is no mention of the Templars and Assassins, because we saw the origins of their orders in Origins. So, could there be anything before that? According to Ubisoft, absolutely. Without going into details, because nobody seems to like it when his fun breaks down, I will stop at reminding that this time we have two heroes - Cassandra and Alexios. At the beginning of the game, however, we have to choose which of the siblings, apparently descendants of Leonidas himself, we want to control. And you know what's best here? Bayek can hide. Whether you choose Cassandra or Alexios, they both have more charisma than the Egyptian Medjay, Arno Dorian, Jacob Frye, and Connor combined. Finally, we have a hero who lives up to the legend of Ezio Auditore.
