Dark Souls Remastered is an action role-playing game set in dark fantasy climates and, among other things, resembles Berserker Kentaro Miury. Unlike the previous work of From Software Studio, the game world has not been divided into separate levels. Instead, we have smooth transitions between zones and large tracts of land - the player can reach any location visible on the screen. In this way, the developers have increased the role of exploration and created more complex locations (which stretch not only horizontally but also vertically). During the game we again go deeper into the dark corridors of castles and abandoned dungeons without detailed maps. We use many different weapons while playing. Unique types of attacks and character animations have been reserved for each of them, and it all depends on the skills of our hero and whether he holds the weapon in both hands or in one. The creators also improved the engine responsible for mapping physics, which in many cases helps to gain an advantage over the enemy. In addition, the hero masters magic again (spells and miracles). The souls taken from defeated opponents are the means of payment and the source of experience points.

Additional details can also be observed while exploring the land of Lordran, but here and there we will encounter graphic effects that are not to be found in Dark Souls from 2011. When running on the lava in Lost Izalith, you can see that our character is engaged in fire for a moment, and we leave traces when we go down to the arena from the Bed of Chaos. There are a bit more situations in which you can do a little "wow" (better lightning effect on Smough's hammer, more accurate Quelaag model or higher quality explosion effects when fighting a Stray Demon). There are, however, moments where it is not difficult to get the impression that the Remastered version looks the same as the original. These are only appearances, because the higher resolution and improved lighting constantly "do the job".
Speaking of the Lost Izalith location, it is worth adding that it has been significantly improved. Hidetaka Miyazaki himself, the guru of the Dark Souls series from the From Software studio, once admitted that the mentioned place has not been completed. Although now there was much more time to refine than years ago, the authors of the refreshed edition did not modify the gameplay there (or anywhere else) in any way. Therefore, after defeating the Centipede Demon, we still run a lava filled with "a hundred" of the same enemies that were placed there on a copy-and-paste basis. Nevertheless, the appearance of the lava itself has been improved, and the lighting used in Dark Souls Remastered has made the player simply see more than in the original, making it easier to navigate the area.
Before the premiere of the Dark Souls remaster, the situation in Blighttown was also a big unknown, which was referred to as Lagtown by players for a very simple reason. This is where the game clearly "lost" the most frames, and the number of FPS in extreme cases fluctuated around ten or twelve. This made it impossible to play comfortably and caused frustration in almost every playthrough. Now, after entering Blighttown, whether via the Valley of Drakes or from Depths, we won't experience any drops in animation smoothness. Dark Souls Remastered works flawlessly in each location.
