Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is a single-player action role-playing game. The 38 Studios debut project blends a massive, diverse world with dynamic combat. The game was developed by people who are not only known in the computer industry: the project lead is Ken Rolston (designer of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and TES IV: Oblivion), the artistic framework was provided by Todd McFarlane (artist, creator of the character Spawna) and it all takes place in the world created in the imagination of writer RA Salvatore. On the other hand, victory in skirmishes is determined not only by the efficiency of the fingers, but primarily by the hero's level. The development of the story is significantly influenced by the extensive dialogue system modeled on the module known from Mass Effect, with which you can largely decide in which direction we go. Character creation is done with an extensive wizard that lets you choose one of four races and mod virtually any body part. According to the canon of RPGs, the hero acquires many useful skills both in combat (divided into three trees: melee, finesse, and sorcery) and in crafting (e.g., alchemy, blacksmithing, and ringmaking). Overall, the development points achieved can be distributed over 60 general skills.
Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning Download for PC The game takes place in a land called Amalur. We play the hero who has risen as part of a mysterious experiment using the device Well of Souls. Throughout the game we try to figure out the intrigue behind our return to the dead and why we have no destiny - all Amalur residents have a pre-recorded future that they cannot change. The title combines the characteristics of a classic RPG with a magnificent open world full of characters, a rich story and development tree, as well as a dynamic arcade game reminiscent of the God of War series (mainly in the combat area). The creators made some concessions, but did not give up the original solutions - for example, at the beginning of the game we do not choose character classes, since this is a natural consequence of the decisions made during the adventure. The combat, created in the style of dynamic action games, is diversified by, among other things, bombs, weapons enriched with magical abilities or the Reckoning mode, which slows down time and increases the strength of our damage. In addition to the main story, the game features hundreds of side missions and challenges that allow you to gain experience, gain reputation with a specific caste, and earn trophies. We can move properly in the open world of Amalur. The map is divided into five major areas, each characterized by different conditions and terrain characteristics. The production light is extremely colorful and three-dimensional.

Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning Recently, I very often come across the statement that today you can look for a decent, action-packed RPG with a candle, set in a fantasy world. There are a lot of comments that we got the last worthy representatives of this genre years ago. Well, it's actually hard to disagree with that. Fortunately, we existed in a period when history, even a very short one, likes to come full circle. There are remasters, remakes, reboots - and that's how Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning debuted.
Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning was supposed to be a response to the calls of fans who are asking for representatives of the mentioned genre and if we look at the confusion caused by his announcement, it fulfilled its task - at least in terms of marketing. In this review, I will try to tell you whether it was also possible, taking into account the purely gameplay aspects.
The prototype of this game, Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning, was released in 2012 on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC and very quickly gathered a large group of fans around him. To this day, many people praise the project created in collaboration with 38 Studios and Big Huge Games, writing that it is one of the best representatives of action RPGs that have been created. Taking this into account, the only surprise is that we had to wait over 8 years for the remaster!
The care for refreshing Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning from 2012 is carried out by THQ Nordic - an Austrian studio that has proven many times that they know how to do such activities. Only in the last few months we got from their hands a perfectly refurbished Destroy All Humans! (2020), but also SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated or Saints Row 4 Re-Elected. Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning was supposed to be another splash in the publishers' notebook (and another great wordplay in the title).
