No Man's Sky releases on PC a cosmic sandbox that blends two genres that are very familiar to players. The game allows you to explore the galaxy from the ship's cockpit, like in classic space simulators, while offering the opportunity to explore the surface of the planet, realized in the style of first-person shooters. The production was created in the well-known series Joe Danger, the studio Hello Games, and is by far the most ambitious of his projects to date. The authors describe their work as an homage to old sci-fi novels, the title of which captures their full attention both in terms of plot and visual style. The game takes place in a procedurally generated galaxy of over eighteen trillion planets - which in practice means most parts of the universe will remain undiscovered no matter how many people buy this title and how long it continues to play. Virtually every element of the virtual world has been created. In this way, planetary systems and their planets, all flora and fauna along with behavioral patterns, various geological structures, as well as individual aliens inhabiting few buildings and space stations were created. Importantly, however, the galaxy players visit is common to all and is not recreated at each game start. Thanks to this, fans can share coordinates leading to discovered planets, and when other users go to the given coordinates, they will find exactly the same as their predecessors.
We are watching first-person events in the PC, XONE and PS4 No Man's Sky released on the platform. The in-space gameplay is similar to arcade star simulators, and the observation is done in view from the ship's cockpit. The exploration of the planets, on the other hand, was carried out in the form known from FPS games. The production was developed as a total sandbox, so the world is completely open and free of barriers - which of course does not mean that it is safe everywhere. In a simplified way, the player's activity can be divided into several groups, among which we will find exploration, combat and trading activities, including the collection of raw materials and the production of items (crafting system). The player cannot kill or rob everything that is valuable with impunity. The galaxy is patrolled by what are known as sentinels or robots guarding the balance of space. However, success requires a fairly aggressive approach to development, so confrontations with the Guardians are inevitable. Kosmos also inhabits many alien races. As we play with some we become allies and others our enemies - it mainly depends on our actions. We won't find any skill trees or character classes here. The development is done by grinding the skills of the player himself and improving the ship, weapons and self-built base, which require blueprints found on planets with some traders and received as a reward for performing small tasks. If we die on the surface of a celestial body, we lose the equipment we are wearing at the moment and we react with the ship. On the other hand, death in space is caused by the loss of items carried onboard and damage to some onboard systems that require repair.

No Man's Sky Hello Games has fought for the quality and content of No Man's Sky for years. Only a few games have undergone such a long and positive change at the same time, while after months of working on new content, the production finally boasts a small achievement on Steam. We heard a lot about No Man's Sky even before the premiere, because Sean Murray did not spare admiration and promises about many attractions in space. The words, however, did not coincide with the actual state of the item, which was not of the expected quality. The head of the studio presented systems that went into production only in the next updates.
No Man's Sky The title's debut was not one of the most successful moments for Hello Games, the game was considered overrated by many users, which was definitely expressed on Steam - the offer received "Overwhelmingly Negative" reviews (less than 20% positive), but a lot has changed in recent months. From 2016, the authors aimed to systematically provide further updates and content. The effort has paid off - 5 years after the premiere on Valve's platform, we can see "Mostly positive" reactions from players.
No Man's Sky is proof that even the worst premiere can be saved. However, we must bear in mind that Sony's support most likely translated into great sales, and the funds from it allowed the team to work on the game for months - the creators listened to the feedback, regularly supplemented the production world, and this brought positive consequences.
