RAGE 2 The second part of the series of post-apocalyptic FPS games initiated by the team at id Software. RAGE 2 was mostly created in Avalanche studio and the game combines dynamic shooting with traversing a large open world behind the wheel of vehicles. RAGE 2 is a post-apocalyptic FPS sequel developed by the id Software team and published by Bethesda Softworks in 2011. In the case of the "Two", most of the work was done by the Avalanche Studios team (best known for the Just Cause series and the Mad Max game), and id Software Studio mainly oversaw it and sometimes suggested its own solutions. Bethesda Softworks remained the publisher. RAGE 2 Download for PC Like the previous installment in the cycle, RAGE 2 takes us on a journey to a post-apocalyptic Earth devastated by an asteroid impact. The sequel begins 30 years after the events shown in the first part and continues them directly. The uprising against the authorities was a success, but the sinister dictatorship that was pushed underground has rebuilt its former power within a few decades and is once again preparing to take over the entire Wasteland under General Cross. The player takes on the role of Walker (or Walkers - you can choose the gender of the character), i.e. H. The last representative of the Guardians faction from Vineland, whose task it is to protect free people from mutants, bandits and other threats. Using the technology of Ark - capsules in which specially trained people were wintered for the reconstruction of civilization after the apocalypse - the hero enters into another fight with the Authority and tries to destroy it once and for all.
RAGE 2 puts at our disposal a vast open world made up not only of rocky canyons and sandy wilderness characteristic of the first part, but also of remnants of human civilization, jungles and swampy areas. As before, we move around the map mainly with armed vehicles and visit, among other things, trading towns, bandit posts, mutant camps, arenas and racetracks, where the player awaits a wide range of optional attractions. In fact, exploration is just an addition to the mechanics of the first-person shooter game, which is somewhat reminiscent of the Doom series - it's very dynamic, effective, and bloody. In combat we use different types of weapons (including shotgun, rocket launcher, hyper-action, gravity launcher; we all carry them with us and gradually improve them throughout the game) and they are complemented by gadgets - mainly known from the first RAGE helicopter Wingstick ) - and nanirite forces. The latter allow the player to perform tricks such as double jump or telekinesis, creating a vortex that overwhelms enemies or topples them. RAGE 2 only includes single player mode. However, a network component was placed, which makes it possible, for example, to compete with other players in various competitions for placements in online leaderboards. In addition, the game was regularly updated after the premiere and received weekly changing challenges. RAGE 2 is based on the Apex Engine technology that Avalanche studio has used in its previous projects, with Just Cause games at the forefront. It was decided to use this engine instead of id Tech (which powered the first RAGE) as it was adapted to generate rich and detailed open worlds.

RAGE 2 Even before reaching for the Rage 2 box, I knew perfectly well that id Software and Avalanche Studios would not offer me an Oscar-winning narrative that would squeeze the last juices out of me and leave me empty like a bottle of wine after a hot night with a console. A few months ago, the developers were mumbling about fictional excesses, but the closer to the premiere, the marketing campaign focused on the gameplay, and I was confirmed in my first assumptions. The action of the production takes place several decades after the events of "Jedynka", so we are still running around the post-apocalyptic Earth, which was ruined by an asteroid impact. You do not need to know the events of the first installment, because the authors mention the adventure, and let's face it - the first installment was not focused on presenting a deep story.
RAGE 2 Here it is basically the same, because after the first hour I know basically everything: the main character of the adventure was a certain Walker, whose peaceful existence is interrupted by an attack. His hometown is ruined, friends are slaughtered, and his beloved aunt is murdered. The Guardian's outfit, i.e. a powerful exoskeleton that allows the use of power, falls into our paws quite accidentally, so whether we like it or not, we become the last defender who has to stand up to the returning Authority. General Cross with his army of various mutants will stand on our way, and this is where the story runs end. The story is as simple as building a flail - he is evil and must be eliminated.
RAGE 2 Without surprising threads, without extensive moral choices and without captivating dialogues - at some point even the hero himself laughs at the latter, thus showing that even the developers knew one thing: here the plot is on the second (or maybe even third?) Plan. And frankly speaking, I regret it a bit, because the presented world asks for some interesting threads, more discussions about the post-apocalypse and delving into the threads of some characters - I especially liked a doctor. It's not here, and I was hoping to be positively surprised by event-driven missions - this is where my biggest problem with Rage 2 comes in, as the developers chose a tiresome solution.
