Warhammer Chaosbane is a classic hack-n-slash action role-playing game. This means that the game is observed in isometric projection and clashes with hordes of monsters mainly occur through an extremely agile combat system in which the player's reflexes play as important a role as the hero's skills. The campaign in Warhammer: Chaosbane can be played alone or in the company of up to three players (on a shared screen, on one device and over the web). During the game, the player explores the world, completes quests, collects gold and items, and develops character stats. When creating a hero, he has four classes to choose from: an Empire soldier, a dwarven warrior, a wood elf who shoots a bow, and a magical high elf who wields magic. Each of them has unique characteristics that affect gameplay.

Additional information

I knew that Warhammer Chaosbane would be a budget game (which, however, is not indicated by the price). A little-known developer with no experience in the genre, a publisher without big brands in its portfolio and a brand that has no luck with good games (except for PC Total Warhammer). A combination from which something sensible could come out with a bit of good wind, but unfortunately there were no good conditions. For the whole dozen or so hours, harder at the end of the game, I had a growing impression that Warhammer: Chaosbane should first appear as an early access game and only then be expanded.

Warhammer Chaosbane Lack of meaningful content can be seen from the very beginning. The campaign itself is not too short. About 10 hours on a hard level is not enough and it would be a perfect prelude to a longer end game fun. Unfortunately, not too many attractions await us in the end game. Yes, it is better than during the campaign, where we only have story missions, four bosses and a few scenes interspersed with conversations with several characters, but to experience it, you have to get through the campaign, and it quickly begins to tire with its blandness, which does not help also fighting, collecting items and the pace of the game.

Warhammer Chaosbane Inexperienced development teams when creating a game in some genre, usually decide to use the usual patterns in mind, if we cannot make a revolution, we will not spoil anything. Unfortunately, EKO Software was not even able to do that very well. Medium hack 'n' slashes have a simple scheme - a campaign for a few hours, a solid end game to hold us down for longer, and a lot of different items to motivate us to play. Here, unfortunately, there is none of that. Items fly in reasonable numbers, but apart from slightly different stats, there isn't much difference between them. Only the last level of rarity that we can get at the end game introduces a variety worth a grind. Earlier, we collect what is lost and assume if it raises our statistics even a little.
